Weight loss injections: Information for patients

We have received lots of questions from people about weight loss injections - we know the information can be confusing, so here’s what you need to know:

• Weight loss injections are currently only available on the NHS for a small group of patients, under a strict criteria. If you meet this criteria, you will be contacted directly.
  

• For patients who are eligible for this treatment, we do not yet know how this will be offered locally, but we believe this is unlikely to be offered through individual practices.
  

• The injection will be offered alongside support around diet and lifestyle changes.

• We will continue to prescribe similar injections for diabetes management - this is on an individual basis, assessed through their annual review and in line with the current national guidance.
